Ivory Coast star, Yaya Toure has today announced his retirement from international football.
The 33-year-old midfielder made his national team senior debut 12 years ago, scoring 19 goals in 102 appearances for the Elephants.
Toure was part of the Ivory Coast team at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup. He also played a major role in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations title win for his country.
The player said in a statement released: "There are decisions that are difficult to take. But, I have to pass the baton on to the younger [generation],
"After 14 years at most levels with the Elephants, I [have] come to the end of my adventure with the Ivory Coast.
"I thank all the supporters, all my fans."
