Super Eagles of Nigeria survived a second half scare to win 2-1 at Zambia,starting their World Cup 2018 qualifiers on a good note.
Arsenal's 20 year old Alex Iwobi gave Nigeria the lead with a smart finish from inside the Zambians box, beating the goalkeeper.
Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho doubled the lead, after rounding the goalkepper following an interchange of passes between captain Mikel Obi and Brown Ideye. Ideye then played a perfect pass for the 20 year old who blasted the ball home.
A poor defending from Kenneth Omeruo gave the Zambians opportunity to pull a goal back in the second half.
Nigeria hanged on to claim an all important three points away in Ndola after surviving a second half pressure.
