Victor Anichebe has today joined English Premiership side Sunderland on a free transfer on a 1-year contract.
The 28-year-old Nigerian became Sunderland's ninth summer signing after penning a year contract.
The player told Sunderland’s official website, “I’m really happy to be here at a great club,”
“I have a lot of good friends here and everyone knows that I know the manager really well.
“He brought me through as a young player and was a big factor in me coming here.”
It will be recalled that forward has made over 120 appearances for David Moyes while he was still at Everton.
The player became a free agent after leaving West Brom at the end of last season.
Anichebe has 11 caps for his home country, Nigeria, scoring a goal.
