Enyimba wins again as fight for championship continues

Enyimba FC are in line to retain the Nigerian league championship after defeating Akwa United 2-1 in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

The People's Elephant are now fifth on the table with 48 points from 29 matches. They are now five points behind leaders Wikki Tourists with two games at hand.

The seven-time champions were leading the game after ninth minute, with a goal by Mfon Udoh from the penalty spot after Stephen Chukwude was brought down inside the box.

Akwa United leveled the score at 44th minute with Hassan Babangida finding the back of the net.

Ikechukwu Ibenegbu ‘Mosquito’ came on as a substitute to score the winning goal with 10 minutes from the final whistle.
